The VLMK Engineering + Design team is at the forefront of designing a new hub for outdoor enthusiasts in Beaverton, OR. In collaboration with C2K Architecture and CSI Construction, VLMK is providing structural engineering services for the newest REI Co-op in Oregon. Strategically located at Walker Center, 2780 Southwest Cedar Hills Boulevard, the store is anticipated to open its doors in spring 2024. The new REI Co-op store is designed to offer an immersive shopping experience, blending seamlessly with the natural ethos of the brand and catering to the specific needs of the outdoor community in and around Beaverton.

REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc.) is no stranger to the outdoor retail market, having established itself since 1938 as a cooperative focused on making quality climbing gear accessible at reasonable prices. Over the decades, REI has grown significantly, expanding its reach to include seven other stores across Oregon and establishing a presence in 39 states nationwide. This expansion reflects REI’s commitment to fostering an engaged community of outdoor enthusiasts and promoting a lifestyle of adventure and exploration. The new Beaverton store is set to further this mission, serving as a testament to REI’s enduring legacy and its dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its members and customers with innovative products and experiences.
