FANNO CREEK PLACE
TIGARD, OR

Two inviting three story Class A office buildings were built using a creative structural design approach. Concrete tilt-up was used for lateral and gravity support at the perimeter of the building. The roof and floors were steel framed with concrete on steel deck. Building A is approximately 74,500 square feet, while Building B is approximately 55,500 square feet.

GRESHAM STATION MEDICAL OFFICE BLDG
GRESHAM, OR

VLMK Consulting Engineers provided the structural engineering services for this multi-story office building, which was one of the first three-story tilt buildings in the Portland Metropolitan area.

Floor framing consists of a composite concrete slab on open-web steel joists. The building features a stylish cornice, a large atrium at the main entry, and an elegant glass curtain wall in the Southwest corner for increased sunlight exposure. The building was awarded 1st runner-up for Excellence in Concrete by the Oregon Chapter of the American Concrete Institute.

CAMAS MEADOWS
CAMAS, WA

Situated near the golf course of the same name, this three building development features views of the links. All buildings were constructed using concrete tilt-up and structural steel. Building A (shown) is a two story building consisting of approximately 13,200 square feet. Building B is also a two story building consisting of approximately 27,000 square feet. Building C is a three story building consisting of approximately 40,800 square feet.

CASCADE STATION PAD IV
PORTLAND, OR

As part of the Cascade Station development near Portland International Airport, this pad is earmarked for mixed-use. The space is planned to accommodate retail on the ground floor with offices on the second floor. The building uses pile supported foundations and moment framing with significant canopies around the perimeter.

CASCADE STATION CORP CTR PHASE I
PORTLAND, OR

Two phases were used to build the new corporate center at Cascade Station. The first phase (shown) is a four story 99,385 square foot office building. The second phase is a two story 34,029 square foot office building. Both buildings were constructed using steel construction braced frames on a proprietary driven group pile foundation. Advance steel and foundation packages were prepared to take advantage of lower steel prices.

CORNELL OFFICE BUILDING
HILLSBORO, OR

This one-story building, located off of Cornell Road in Hillsboro, Oregon, houses medical and dental offices. The design features curved acrylic panel canopies. Supported by exposed structural steel, these striking design elements provide visibility from Cornell Road. The 67 foot x 185 foot rectangular footprint required high diaphragm shears and extensive diaphragm nailing.

TIMBER OPERATORS COUNCIL
TIGARD, OR

This project showcases the beauty and warmth of timber products featuring exposed glu-lam columns, beams, and wood decking. The project included a 15,000 square foot addition and a seismic upgrade to the existing structure. The existing roof was reworked to improve roof drainage and minimize new drifted snow loads adjacent to the atrium space.

GREYSTONE COURT
BEAVERTON, OR

VLMK Consulting Engineers provided civil and structural engineering for the Greystone Court Project.

The project includes two separate, two-story L-shaped office buildings that mirror one another. The construction type of the buildings consists of a cost-effective steel frame and strategically placed interior concrete shear walls. The main floor and roof are framed with open-web steel joists and metal deck. The first floor has a slab on grade. Exterior cladding consists of brick veneer on metal studs and numerous windows.

SOUTH PLACE OFFICE BUILDING
TUALATIN, OR

VLMK Consulting Engineers provided the structural engineering services for this distinctive 73,000 square foot three-story office building.

Special features include an elegant curved entry faade, which combines brick veneer and a large glass curtain wall. The floor framing is comprised of concrete on metal deck over open-web steel joists. To minimize column intrusion, some of the joists were required to span up to 50 feet. For the lateral load resisting system, the project incorporated an innovative steel joist moment resisting frame, thereby maximizing the lineal footage of windows.

SOUTHWEST CENTER OFFICE BUILDING
TIGARD, OR

VLMK Consulting Engineers provided structural and civil engineering for this project, which incorporated the economical benefits of concrete tilt-up construction with class A office space.

The result was an innovative and very successful project for the client. Roof and floor framing consists of open-web steel joists. Floor construction is concrete slab-on-grade at the main floor and concrete on metal deck at the upper levels. Lateral resistance for the structure is provided by the exterior concrete tilt-up panels, which also provide bearing support.
