Old Spaghetti Factory – Various locations

The Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant projects are local dining landmarks in various communities. VLMK completed projects located in Oregon, Washington, California, Nevada, and Ohio. These projects are characterized by distinctive exposed heavy timber framing.

Starbucks – Various locations

Approximately 50 Starbucks locations have been completed by VLMK to date. Typical improvements include mechanical unit support from the ceiling for barista machines, structural evaluation of the existing roof or floor structure above to adequately support interior loads, and exterior signage support. Nearly all projects have required flexibility and responsiveness from the VLMK team to meet tight construction schedules.

Baja Fresh – Various locations

VLMK Consulting Engineers has provided structural engineering services on nearly a dozen Baja Fresh Mexican Grill projects located in Washington, Oregon, and Ohio. Scope varies from project to project, ranging from tenant improvements to significant building remodels. The Lake Oswego project was a complete remodel to an existing Skippers restaurant. Work included a new tower element, vestibule, solarium seating area and a complete rework of the existing roof framing system. The Portland, Oregon project and the Gresham, Oregon project were tenant improvements to buildings also designed by VLMK Consulting Engineers.

Original Joe's Deli – Portland, OR

The Original Joe's Deli projects are located at NE 102nd & Halsey and Hayden Island, both in Portland, Oregon. The 102nd & Halsey location consists of a new, three-tenant, 5,000 square foot masonry building that houses commercial tenants in addition to the Original Joe's Deli. The building features a unique diamond shaped floor plan. The project at the Hayden Island location, across the street from the Jantzen Beach shopping center, consists of two, auger cast pile supported masonry buildings of 2,000 and 5,800 square feet. Gateway Computers currently occupies one building, while the other is home to the Original Joe's Deli restaurant.

Pig-n-Pancake – Lincoln City, OR

VLMK Consulting Engineers provided structural and civil engineering services for this ground up one-story wood framed restaurant. The restaurant features wood siding, a standing seam metal roof, and stone veneer. The Lincoln City restaurant boasts lofty ceilings as well as a generous parking lot to easily accommodate large vehicles and RVs. VLMK designed a large underground stormwater detention system under the parking lot.
