Bob Lanphere's Beaverton Honda
Beaverton, OR
This remodeled Honda showroom was transformed into an eye-catching centerpiece. The design added a circular prototype design element, a big blue cylinder with a wavy canopy, and drive-through canopy. A stairway and small second-story mezzanine were also added. The building was wood-framed while the façade additions were steel stud framed with a metal stud canopy structure. A second roof was built over the existing roof to economically accommodate the cylindrical roof element. The secondary roof was designed to prevent snow drift. The remodel required flexibility by VLMK engineers to accommodate several design delays of the project.
