VLMK Consulting Engineers provided structural engineering services for this new Honda Auto Sales Showroom and Service facility off of Canyon Road in Beaverton, Oregon.  The structural scope of work for the new showroom included new front entry rotunda and canopy structure showcasing prototype Honda façades, enclosed ground floor areas with exterior steel stud walls and storefronts, new interior steel stairs and associated floor openings, and new roof mounted mechanical equipment.  The scope of work for the renovated service building included removal of existing mezzanines, several new and in-filled masonry (CMU) openings with strongbacks as required, upgraded lateral systems consisting of both masonry and wood-framed shearwalls, new roof-mounted mechanical equipment, re-roof analysis, and several raised concrete floors, stairs, and ramps.  Sitework structural items also included several site retaining walls as well as the relocation and reconstruction of an existing sign pole to a new foundation.
